Day 1

Welcome to our villa "Le Rendezvous".

The kids kickin' it in the living room after a "hard" day of travel.

Christmas dinner.

Day 2

Philippines represented at our first beach.

I saw a nurse shark on my first day of snorkeling. That was my cue to leave the water.

Welcome to Grand Cayman's underwater wildlife.

Mo' wildlife.

Day 3

I am waiting to go scuba diving at the bottom of the ocean for the first time!

Meanwhile, Kristin and L went snorkeling.

The girls went to the local tea room for lunch. The guys were happy to let them and got a burger instead.

Shopping together in George Town.

Matt and Ligaya posing for the camera. One word: awkward.

Day 4

Mo' snorkeling.

I kissed this stingray, which is supposed to give me luck. It was SO worth it.

Ligaya and her friend at the turtle farm. Later, I had the island specialty of turtle soup...mmmm.

Day 5

Mom and L cooking breakfast together for the family.

Today begins our 3 day period of focused relaxation on the beach.

Day 6

A room with this view...amazing.

Ligaya takin' a 10 minute break from the sun.

Snorkeling in front of our villa.

Day 7

Goin' scuba diving at the edge of a reef wall, where it drops 6,000 feet.

Phil's favorite fish.

The Petersons and Schultes together at our favorite restaurant for our last meal.

Bonus Days

No more room on our plane means extra days on Grand Cayman paid for by Delta Airlines.

Thank you Delta!

Best Bump Ever

Two days later than scheduled, we will be back in the States. We volunteered to get bumped off our flight in order to enjoy a little bit more of the island ammenities! More pics to come.

The downside of it all is that we had to say goodbye to our dear family. We look forward to the next time we get to be with them again.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Grand Cayman Island!!!

Here's Phil and I just behind our villa. We have spent Christmas and New Years on Grand Cayman Island with the Peterson portion of our family. Phil's mom, brother, sister, and borther-in-law are all here. We've filled our days with all the Cayman sights, Cayman cuisine, snorkeling, scuba diving, laying out on the various beaches, playing games, laughing, talking and relaxing at our villa. We must leave the sun, sand and ocean tomorrow, but we're leaving more relaxed, more tan/sun burnt, and richer with family memories. But for the record, I could spend 10 more days (months) here. :)

More pics to come.
