Long Distance

My dad flew out to Denver to drive back to Seattle with me. What a dad! :) I am feeling more and more settled in, here. Things are picking up fast with wedding details. It's nice to be in Seattle and planning!

Phil will be in Winter Park for 2 1/2 more weeks. It is a blessing to have a great job and and a great place for him stay (for free!). We look forward to being together again.

No word yet on what we will be doing after the wedding. We continue to pray and wait on some opportunities.

Thank you for your prayers and all your support!

Mountain Man

I woke up this morning at 4:00 am to warm up the car. Phil went on a day retreat/ long, long hike up and along the continental divide. He was excited for the day ahead of him. He will call sometime this evening for me to pick him up at the other trailhead he is hiking to.

64 Sleeps

It's true. 64 sleeps until we get married...how absolutely exciting! :)

Not much to update. Still waiting on some job opportunities. I'm still finishing up here at Timberline. Phil is still working out at Rob's house. We are still quite excited to get married.

My dear friends here in Colorado are throwing me my very first shower. It's Seattle-themed, so we're grilling fish and eating Washington apples, to name a few of the delicacies that will be present. I am really going to miss these girls.

Next week we will have our goodbye dinner for Timberline. How strange that our time here is finished. The Lord has surprised us at how he has made this place (Timberline and this valley) home.

Wedding plans are going well. All the big stuff is pretty much done, and then we move on to various details of the weekend. :)

Hope to find you all well. Thank you for the updates you post as well. It's been good to connect with long lost friends. :)

A Day at the Lake

Our first big youth group left today after two weeks of being with us. Phil and I got to lead a group on a hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. The group did great, and it was just fun to lead with Phil.

Today, the staff is taking a break and we're going out to a Lake Granby to spend some time recooperating and playing. It will be a good time. :)

No word on future plans as of yet. Stay tuned... :)

And by the way, we have 98 more sleeps until we get married.

Waiting.

We are getting ready for one of our largest groups arriving this Sunday. It seems like this marks the official start of the summer, although we have been here for quite sometime. Wooddale, the group of 9th graders coming this weekend, is one of my favorite groups. I love leading hikes and hanging out with these students. They are here for almost 2 weeks, which is a great amount of time to get to know them.

Phil and I are continuing to pray a lot about what is next for us. We are hopeful for what the Lord has for us. We realize that what is certain is drawing near to him. We pray we would be faithful in this process, not getting frustrated or impatient.

"We wait in hope in the Lord, he is our help and our shield."

Although this is nobody else's favorite picture, it is one of mine. This picture was taken while Phil was packing up the trailer for our canoe trip. We just look like we're having a lot of fun. :) Posted by Hello
Phil arrived safely back from his travels through Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan. We have had some great talks about what the Lord has next for us! And it's just great to be together again. :)

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!!!

Welcome to our blog! We want to keep our friends updated on life with us, so feel free to be updated.

I have been back to Timberline for almost 2 weeks now. It was so wonderful to get engaged, but then Phil and I had to go our separate ways for over 3 weeks. :( After we got engaged, I went to Seattle and planned a wedding. And Phil has been spending the last few weeks visiting with friends and checking out job opportunities. We both have been quite busy. Phil returns to Colorado on Saturday, and I am so so excited! He will be back in Winter Park working in town and also leading out-trips for Timberline. Once we finish our pre-marital counseling with our pastor and his wife (end of June/early July), Phil will move to where we decide to move once we're married.

I am heading back to Seattle August 10th. It will be sad to leave (and I never thought I'd say that). The Lord has really made this place home for this time, and I'm so thankful for the people the Lord has blessed us with here.
