We sent off two of our dear friends, Austin and Erika, to New Jersey where Austin will be attending Princeton Seminary. While it will be a wonderful opportunity for them, we will miss them dearly!

Seattle Politics
We are at Tully's with Gary Locke, Washington's former governor, his (filipino) wife and 2 kids.
We thought about asking to take a picture with him, but didn't.

Summer Fun

A random picture of Phil and I in the main lobby at Timberline. This picture was taken soon after we were officially dating. (We don't have any recent pictures to post because we haven't taken pictures in forever. I'll change that. I will take many random pictures this week.)
Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since we've posted. Since we have last written, we have gone to 2 more summer camps. One in central Washington, and one in California. Phil and I both enjoyed these camps, especially the camp in California. We had awesome students in our respective cabins, and got to know more students and staff which is always great. Phil drove one of the school buses back up to Seattle from California--Way to go Phil! That is a long 12 hours in a school bus, full of students, after working and playing hard for a week at camp!
The weeks are full, and it doesn't seem to slow down. It is exciting and challenging and satisfying work the Lord has for us here. We are continually thankful for all that we have!

Our Newest Addition
Leadership Development Week
Our first retreat of the summer went so great. The retreat was focused on cultivating leaders within the youth group. This fall, we will be starting up student ministry teams to create more opportunities for students to lead and serve. Phil has been working to create/establish/continue these teams with our youth staff team. Our week with the students were full of life lessons on leadership, service, and following hard after our Lord.
We got to know students and staff better which was the hightlight of the time for me. Other highlights were staying up late with the girls, getting to lead a trip with good friends and my dear husband (who did a fabulous job and created a intentional time for all of us), dancing our hearts out, and getting to share with others how great The Firs and Camp Firwood is. There are times that I think I'm in high school again, and then there are times I am reminded I am definitely not. :)
