Back from Ensenada

(I know we are lame about keeping this updated...)

We returned from Ensenada, Mexico 2 weeks ago with our youth group. The students did so great, and the trip was wonderful. We were able to build 2 houses through the work of a local church. It was a great time!

A Peterson Thanksgiving-Mas

I don't think we ever posted that we had a lovely Thanksgiving-Mas (A joint Thanksgiving and Christmas celebration) in Minnesota with the Peterson/Schulte clan. It was so fun and we were all so glad to get to know our new member of the family, Joshua Timothy Schulte!

A Durias Christmas

We ate, we laughed, we watched tv, we opened presents, we decorated a gingerbread house (or we tried, at least :)), we talked, and we laughed some more. Good times, good times.

Merry Christmas!

We were at my parent's house with the family for Christmas Eve, and then my parents, brothers, and their wives and kids came over for Christmas day. It was so fun getting to host for a change. We (I) made some of Phil's family favorites, and it was all a hit. I'll post pictures soon.

Our house is looking more and more like ours. My favorite thing for Christmas was a pink door that Phil got me. :) Sounds funny, but I'll show you in a little bit.

All Moved In!

We've moved into our new place and are SO thankful for all the ways the Lord has provided for us!!! Here are some pics from post-painting/pre-moving.

Let it Snow

It's snowing today! (The above picture is of me just outside the door I enter to get into my office at church.) The few days we get snow in Seattle is a treat-- makes me remember the good old days in Winter Park, CO. :)

We moved out of our Queen Anne apartment yesterday, and I sure am glad that the Lord held back all forms of precipitation during our move!

For the record...

Phil mentioned in the previous blog that we would post pictures of our new place soon. But we only have video of our place, but we don't have any pictures. And I have no idea how to post videos, so the pictures won't come for a week or so.

We're SO excited to move!!! :)

Buying our First Home!

The Petersons have spent the past month working out the details to purchase our own home! We are so excited and overwhelmed that this gift has come our way. More details to come...

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

For our anniversary, we went to a Brazilian restaurant named Fogo de Chao in Chicago. Above is a picture of the menu. They had 10 varieties of meat that they cook in large chunks and wait staff come to your table, and carve you off a piece. You can indicate whether or not you would like more meat by the card on your table. The food was really good, and the restaurant was unlike anything we had been to before.
